Skid Row Carnival of Love 2017
Breaking the cycle of homelessness by promoting human kindness.
Founded in 2015, The Skid Row Carnival of Love (SRCOL) is Los Angeles’ fastest growing community event benefiting and celebrating the often overlooked individuals experiencing homelessness in, or around, Skid Row.
The carnival is tailor-made with resources and every guest is paired with a volunteer to guide them through the event, encouraging one-on-one connections. For one day, Skid Row is transformed into a world of sincere connection, love and hope with an abundance of services, including healthcare and career opportunities, education, legal and housing services, as well as haircuts, feet washing, fun and games, donations, food, and great friends. There is no rich or poor, us or them — only human kindness.
With more than 2,000 volunteers and 4,000 attendees in 2017, SCROL plans to expand beyond Los Angeles, partnering with cities and communities around the country to put on their own carnival.
During this incredibly colorful and inspirational event, KicKee Pants helped make homeless women a little warmer and more comfortable by donating womenswear items to be included in their care kits.
